These two bands nearly played together last week in Chicoutimi, but they were kidnapped by the Boogeyvan.

Montrealers Black Diamond Bay and The Sam Roberts Band finally meet on Halloween night, Friday night October 31st,
at the Showplace Performance Centre in Peterborough.

Many of those who were at the Sam show at the old Vibe on April 2006 and those who were at the Black Diamond Bay/Montreal House just a few weeks ago in September, will likely be there. See you there.

REVIEW:

The Sam Roberts Band attracted a near capacity audience of Peterborough's finest rockers. SRB were true to form with a mix of songs from all albums - Inhuman Condition, Born in a Flame, Chemical City and Love at the End of the World.
(When you have four excellent albums of fine rock to choose from, you can put together a different show every time).

The guys did a Halloween encore in some gruesome costumes.
Above the stage a dangling skeleton and the head of a ghoul floating in a crystal ball were kinda cute.

Although this audience had come for Sam, and got what they wanted, they also bonused an extra treat:
Opening was Black Diamond Bay, also from Montreal, with their own version of classic rock influenced songs.
Their music is new to most there - refreshing new rock - melodic and theatrical. They played songs from their second album
(also named Black Diamond Bay... and as a side note, their first album called Krief, recorded when they were previously named Krief, is killer too).
By the time they were finished 'Marching Backward' (also known as 'Machine') with a frenzied floor show, the audience was on their feet and well on their way for the Sam Roberts Band to jump in, kick it up even higher and take it over the top.
